Meet Our Therapists

Lucy Holder opened Reclamation Counseling Center in 1991.  Her orientation to therapy is to help a person become the unique individual they were born to be.  The task is to identify the unhealed hurts, unresolved issues, unmet needs and begin a treatment plan to deal with those problems.  In the process, the client will develop the coping skills to make a marriage work, to facilitate stressful interactions with others at home and on the job.  She enjoys teaching indviduals life management skills with spiritual, cognitive, behavioral, and experiential therapy. 
 
Lucy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and a Licensed Child Care Administrator (LCCA).  She earned her Masters in Education Counseling and a Masters of Psychology from the University of Houston-Victoria. 
 
Lucy has thirty years experience with children and families working with the Victoria Independent School District, The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Women's Crisis Center, Devereux Foundation, J & B Kids, Inc. Group Home, Live Oak Psychiatric Hospital and twenty-one years in private practice with Reclamation Center. 
Wendy Holder has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters in Education Counseling.  She is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) in the state of Texas.  She is accepting interns that are striving to become licensed counselors. 
 
Wendy has been practicing in the field for nearly ten years.  She has worked at Reclamation Center for four years now.  Her background experience has included working with addictions in youth and adults.  She has a passion for working with teenagers that struggle with legal issues, addictions and family problems. Wendy also often works with couples providing marriage counseling, as well as, individual and family counseling.  Wendy also has been teaching parenting classes and facilitating anger management and substance abuse groups for several years.   
Shannon Holder earned his Bachelor degree from Thomas Edison University, Trenton, New Jersey.  He received his Masters of Arts from the University of Houston-Victoria.  Shannon is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  He is employed as a counselor with the Goliad Eduational Cooperative in Goliad, Texas, and serves Reclamation Counseling Center as a therapist as his schedule permits.  He has almost 19 years of experience working with special needs youth both in the school and private setting.  Shannon specializes in adolescents and young adults.  Shannon is also a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. 
John Lenihan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology (1964) and a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance (1975). He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) in the state of Texas. He is accepting interns who are striving to become licensed professional counselors.
 
John has practiced counseling since 2008. He has worked at Reclamation Center for one year. In addition to his counseling career, he is a retired career USAF officer and a licensed Nursing Home Administrator for 24 years. He works primarily with adults and couples, but has had clients as young as 15. John is an avid reader of psychology books seeking the latest in therapeutic ideas so as to provide his clients with evidenced-based, cutting-edge therapy. His focus is on adults who have experienced early childhood or adolescent trauma and may now suffer from depression, anxiety, chronic pain and autoimmune diseases. In addition to doing traditional talk therapy he has been trained in San Antonio (Basic-2009) and Dallas (Intermediate-2010) to use Hypnosis and Guided Imagery as therapeutic techniques.
  
Rachel Turner holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Education in Counseling.  She received both degrees at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, Texas.  Rachel is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Intern and a Registered Play Therapist – Intern.
 
Through her internship and graduate program she has worked at Metro Ministries Homeless Shelter where she worked with the children and women who lived at the shelter, specializing in parenting and child therapy. She also worked at Family Enrichment and Play Therapy where she was supervised by one of the top Play Therapist in Corpus Christi, Julie Thigpen. Rachel has a passion for working with children and is specializing in Play Therapy with children ages 3-12.
 
Rachel moved to the Crossroads area and began working at Reclamation Center in 2014.  She is continuing her work with kids and is currently being supervised by Lucy Holder for her LPC Internship and Joanne Schrimsher for her RPT Internship.  Rachel anticipates her internships to be completed in 2016.  She is currently accepting new clients.
Robert Gonzales is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A & I University, Kingsville, Texas.  He received his Master's degree in Guidance and Counselor Education at the Pan American Universty, Edinburgh, Texas.  He is also Certified in Mid-Management in School Administration.
 
Robert has been with Reclamation Counseling Center since 2007.  He specializes in drug and alcohol testing and counseling.  He is also experienceed in numerous modalities of therapy and generally works with adults and couples. 
 
 
Joanne Schrimsher is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor.  She graduated from Texas A & I Univeristy with her Bachelor of Science and went on to receive her Masters of Science and Educational Specialties from Troy State University in Dothan Alabama.  Joanne also has a Degree in Counseling and Human Development. 
 
Joanne has previously worked Region III Education Service Center in the Early Childhood Initiative Program as a Case Mananger, Counselor and Educational Diagnostitian.  She also worked at Jackson County Special Services as a Counselor and Educational Diagnostitian.   Joanne has focused on working with children throughout her career and has worked for Reclamation Center as a Play Therapist for over 20 years.
